T3-Ecomm Website
Redesigned the e-commerce platform, focusing on improved navigation and user experience. Enhanced functionality includes a "Deals of the Day" section and an order tracking feature.
T3-Ecomm is a web development project I completed. At that time, I focused more on the website's functionality and didn't pay much attention to the design part. I didn't conduct any user research at the time. As a result, I was unaware of my target audience and their pain points.
Pervious Design
Analyzing Pervious Design
In the Home page all the products are shown in grid-like formation. There isn't a category which makes it harder to find products.
Footer is not achieving anything other than showcasing a designer's own brand.
Everytime product in the carousel changes, the border of the carousel also changes.
In the home page products are not aligned.
On the mobile screen some text in the carousel is not shown property.
User Pain points
Lack of Product Information
Difficult Website Navigation
Tedious Checkout Process
Unreliable Delivery and Returns
Poor Customer Support
Security Concerns
Early Design
Streamlining Workflow: A Component-First Design Approach
During my previous project, I found myself recreating components multiple times.
This led me to adopt a component-first design approach.
Components I've used in mobile design also come handy in website design with some minor adjustments.
This approach saved me time, as I could simply copy and paste components when needed.
It also proved beneficial for mockups, as I only had to connect components to the desired frame once.
Final Design
Imapct
Increased Development Efficiency:
Streamlined workflow by creating reusable components, leading to time savings for development and mockup creation.
Identified User Pain Points:
Product Information Architecture: Missing product categories made finding products difficult.
Intuitive Navigation: Unclear navigation elements likely hindered user experience.
Refined Design: Product misalignment and mobile text overflow highlighted design shortcomings.
Footer Functionality: Solely showcasing the designer's brand missed an opportunity to add user value.
What I learned
The project emphasizes the importance of user research and a holistic design approach.
What Next?
Adding a "need help" page can help users find solutions to potential problems.
Implementing a product filtering system with multiple options will enhance user experience.
